We’re looking for an Information Management System Mentor who can volunteer in-country for 12 months. 

  • This assignment seeks to support the change for the public to access digital support for government services.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in streamlining IT support with practical experience in CMS and a strong understanding of DNS, domain name management, and web hosting.
  • As a volunteer, you will support the team to set up an IT help desk, migrate from .org to .gov.pr. and ensure government sites and uniform site creation systems are in place.

About the Partner Organisation 

The Executive Branch, based in Koror, Palau, is comprised of the leadership responsible for the daily administration of the Republic of Palau. It houses the Office of the President along with the Vice-President, the Council of Chiefs, and the eight Ministries. The Office of the President is located in the heart of downtown Koror in a building known as the “One Stop Shop”. The operational functions of the executive branch of the Federal Government are executed there. The Office within the president’s office, where the volunteer will assist, works to spearhead digital transformation in the Republic. 

This project aims to aid society function better with technology. One of the major goals is to allow for government services to be offered to the public digitally, which would improve the public’s experience interacting with government services. The office currently lacks highly skilled staff to execute essential IT tasks required to accomplish the office’s goals. The volunteer will interact with and support the team to address the needs of stakeholders in leadership positions.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
