We’re looking for a Gender & Disability Inclusion Mentor who can live and volunteer in Lesotho for 12 months.
- Provide support with the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy (UNDIS) and inclusive program design to ensure UNDP Lesotho has inclusive policies, tools, and capacity-building offered to staff, government bodies, and organisations working with persons with disabilities.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need relevant qualifications in Gender & Disability Inclusion, Women and Gender Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, or Disability Studies.
- This assignment aims to support the review of existing laws and policies to strengthen GBV prevention and response.
About the Partner Organisation
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Maseru, Lesotho, works in the Kingdom of Lesotho helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. They support the government of Lesotho to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and build resilience in order to sustain development results.
UNDP Lesotho already has a Gender and Disability Specialist, there is a need for capacity development to boost their expertise. A skilled Australian volunteer will bring experience in gender mainstreaming and disability inclusion.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
Additional requirements for this assignment include providing or attaining a First Aid Certificate.
