About the assignment

We’re looking for a Fundraising Mentor who can volunteer remotely from home for 6 months.

  •  As a volunteer, you will support the local team to develop a plan to attract international donations for the organisation.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in fundraising for a non-profit organisation, or in fundraising/business development.
  • You will be working alongside the fundraising officer to develop a plan to increase the international support for the organisation.

About the Partner Organisation

The Ann Harding Cheshire Home (AHCH), based in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a residential care facility for adults with permanent physical disability. The home aims to create a society where persons with disabilities have equal opportunities. Their mission is to assist those people regardless of their colour, race or creed, providing the conditions necessary for their physical, mental and spiritual well-being. They are the oversight body of all 16 Cheshire Homes throughout South Africa.

Within South Africa, most of the funding that is available is for specific projects, however there are a limited number of projects that they can do and there is a need for funds to support their general operations. AHCH currently has a full-time fundraiser and would like the support of a volunteer to help expand their network and include ways to raise funds internationally.

About the Australian Volunteers Program

The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian government-funded initiative. We support partner organisations across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa to achieve locally led change.

Volunteers are supported throughout their volunteer journey, and we actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. Find out more.
