We’re looking for a Food Scientist who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) for 2 months and in-country for 4 months. 


  • This assignment seeks to support the development and refinement of existing WIBDI functional food product ideas
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a tertiary qualification in food science, food technology or a closely related field
  • You will be working alongside WIBDI members Including all staff with different diversities in the trainings regardless of their background.

WIBDI (Women in Business Development Inc. ) is a non-government organization that has been in operation for over 30 years, with a mission to empower vulnerable rural families to achieve sustainable livelihoods. They do this through a range of programs that equip communities with knowledge, skills, and resources, as well as access to markets and finance. Their work focuses on climate-smart agriculture, sustainable development, and financial literacy, with a strong emphasis on inclusion.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.

The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$2,262.00 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$79.00 per month.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements include a First Aid Certificate.
