We’re looking for a Food Processing Capacity Building Mentor who can live and volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 10 months.

  • This assignment seeks to enhance the technical capacity of staff and improve food processing training programmes
  • As a volunteer, you will support the management team in improving the overall standards and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Provide support in identifying new opportunities, innovative approaches, and areas for growth that will enable the Centre to expand its services and better meet the needs of the communities it serves.

About the partner organisation

The Cathy Rich Centre is a food processing training institution in Sri Lanka dedicated to empowering individuals engaged in the micro and small-scale food processing sector.

Its mission is to enhance skills, promote appropriate technologies, and improve access to information, thereby enabling individuals to strengthen their livelihoods and contribute positively to their communities. The Centre conducts training programmes for a diverse range of target groups, including food processors, food processing entrepreneurs, farmers, government field officers, teachers, schoolchildren, and university students, often in collaboration with government and non-government organizations.

This assignment is of significant importance to the Cathy Rich Memorial Food Processing Training Center, particularly in expanding food processing training programmes to rural communities where many small-scale food processors face economic challenges.
