We’re looking for a Financial Systems and Sustainability Mentorwho can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 12 months.

  • This assignment seeks to work closely with EPF’s Finance and Administration Manager and Finance team to provide hands-on mentoring, coaching, and technical support. This objective focuses on strengthening staff capacity in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, donor compliance, and systems use, ensuring skills transfer and sustainable internal capability.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • As a volunteer, you will support hands-on mentoring and coaching to the Finance team in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and donor compliance.

About the Partner Organisation

Equal Playing Field (EPF) is a locally led organisation based in Papua New Guinea, dedicated to advancing human and community development. Established in 2012, EPF operates across multiple provinces, using sport and education as catalysts for positive social change. The organisation delivers programs in schools and communities that promote respectful relationships, prevent violence, and build leadership capacity among young people.

EPF’s aim is to create safe, inclusive, and gender-equitable communities by empowering individuals - particularly youth - to challenge harmful social norms and champion equality. EPF works closely with schools, local governments, civil society organisations, and development partners to strengthen community resilience and drive sustainable behavioural change.

The volunteer will work closely with EPF’s Finance and Administration Manager and Senior Management Team to develop sustainable financial models, fundraising and diversified funding strategies, and contextualised business development approaches. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and strategic experience that EPF is unable to source locally due to funding limitations and the specialised nature of the support needed to build internal capacity.
