About the Partner Organisation
Eastern Highlands Family Voice (EHFV) is a community-based, non-governmental organisation operating in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. Founded in the late 1990s, EHFV has been at the forefront of grassroots efforts to respond to gender-based violence (GBV), family and sexual violence (FSV), child protection, and the promotion of human rights.
EHFV works in both rural and urban areas, delivering counselling services, legal support, emergency referrals, and awareness campaigns. The organisation partners with local communities, government agencies, police, churches, and civil society groups to prevent violence, support survivors, and advocate for lasting policy change. Its work centres around women, children, and vulnerable populations who are most at risk.
EHFV is seeking the support of a qualified volunteer accountant to review and upgrade its financial management systems, particularly its use of MYOB accounting software, and to ensure compliance with national tax and reporting requirements. This role cannot be filled locally due to the limited availability of experienced professionals with the specialised skills required and the cost incurred to hire one, which is beyond the means of a community-based organisation like EHFV. The volunteer will mentor Finance Officers and the Program Manager, contributing to broader capacity development across the finance and program teams.
