About the Partner Organisation
The Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority (EHPHA) is a government health agency responsible for managing and delivering healthcare services throughout the Eastern Highlands Province (EHP) of Papua New Guinea. Operating under the National Department of Health, EHPHA oversees Goroka Provincial Hospital, district hospitals, rural health centres, and community health posts to ensure that quality and accessible healthcare reaches all communities across the province’s eight districts.
EHPHA’s primary aim is to strengthen the provincial health system by providing equitable, affordable, and quality healthcare services. It works collaboratively with local and national government bodies, non-governmental organisations, faith-based agencies, and international development partners to deliver essential health programs focused on maternal and child health, infectious disease control, and the growing burden of non-communicable diseases.
A volunteer can play a key role in enhancing EHPHA’s financial systems by providing expert guidance in budgeting, reporting, compliance, and internal revenue generation. This technical support will help strengthen internal processes, build staff capacity, and establish practical frameworks for long-term financial sustainability. Due to limited availability of professionals with this level of technical financial management and mentoring experience locally, the assignment provides valuable external expertise to support systems development and staff training.
