We’re looking for an English Language Trainer who can live and volunteer for 3 months in Mongolia.

  • This assignment seeks to improve students’ English proficiency and support extracurricular activities among students.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Master’s degree in Education, English, or Linguistics.
  • As a volunteer, you will support professional development for GMIT faculty and local educators.

About the partner organisation

The German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) was established in 2013 as a public university through international cooperation between the governments of Mongolia and Germany. GMIT operates with 2 main faculties (Faculty of Raw Materials and Environmental Engineering; Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering) and Language Center. GMIT aims to develop skilled, innovative, and globally minded professionals who can contribute to Mongolia’s sustainable growth and currently has approximately 500 undergraduate students and about 40 academic and 30 administrative staff members. The volunteer will support students in advancing their Technical English and academic communication skills, co-facilitate curriculum refinement, and motivate learners through interactive cultural workshops. Because our current teaching staff consists entirely of Mongolian instructors, the specific expertise of a native English speaker in nuanced technical language and authentic intercultural communication is not available locally.
