We’re looking for an English Language Teacher who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 6 months. 

  • This assignment seeks to Support to improve professional English programs and instructional materials with the local English teachers.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a  degree in English, Education, Linguistics and TESOL, TEFL, CELTA or an equivalent certificate in English as a Second/Foreign Language Teaching is desirable.
  • As a volunteer, you will support to improve the English language proficiency and teaching methodology skills of English teachers.

About the Partner Organisation 

Darhan Polytechnic College is one of the oldest technical and vocational education institutions in Mongolia, located in Darkhan-Uul Province, with a history of more than 80 years. In 2024, three colleges in the province were merged and reorganized under the unified name Darhan Polytechnic College. The institution now operates three branch campuses, offering a wide range of programs in Civil construction, Road and Bridge construction, Auto mechanic, Energy, Mining, Information Technology, as well as Industrial Technology and Services. Currently, the college delivers technical and vocational education and training to over 2,300 students, supported by a team of 110 teachers and 90 staff members.The college aims to have an experienced English language teacher from Australia to support the enhancement of English language knowledge and skills among English and Renewable Energy teachers, as well as to improve the English curriculum, content, and teaching methodologies. Strengthening English language proficiency will not only improve learning outcomes but also create greater opportunities for the effective implementation of international projects and programs.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.

The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 1,914 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  
  • First Aid Certificate.
