We’re looking for an English Language Teacher Trainer and Curriculum Developer who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Laos.

  • This assignment seeks to improve the English language skills of Law students and teachers at National Institute of Justice
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a post-secondary training in education or English language teaching or related field and Professional English-language qualification (TESOL or similar).
  • As a volunteer, you will collaborate with Lao national teachers at the institute.

About the Partner Organisation 

The National Institute of Justice, or NIJ, is an educational institution run under the Ministry of Justice, which has role in duties in training legal scholars of various levels, offer a bachelor’s degree program in law, training justice professionals, providing short-term training in justice sector work, and conducting research on legal science and justice work. National Institute of Justice has three main campuses which are located in Luang Prabang province, in Savanaket and Chapasak province. The volunteer will be working in Management, Finance and International Division of the National Institute of Justice with local staff and teachers. For this assignment the volunteer will be teaching English to Law students, teachers and govern official from Ministry of Justice, ranging from beginner to intermediate levels. The volunteer will aim to improve the English language skills of law students and teachers at the Institute. The volunteer will also help develop English curriculum and lesson plans for the Institute.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
