We’re looking for an English Language Proficiency Trainer who can live and volunteer for 3 months in Laos.

  • This assignment seeks to support the development of National Academy of Politics and Public Administration office (NAPPA) staff in English Language Communication and teaching 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in education, English, or a related field and ESL Teaching Certificate (CELTA, TESL/TESOL, DELTA, TEFL, or equivalent).
  • As a volunteer, you will support the review and development of English Language Curriculum

About the Partner Organisation 

The National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (NAPPA), is an academic body under the central administration of the party and the government. It has the responsibility to research Marxist-Leninist theory, Kaysone Phomvihane's ideas, the roots and history of the party and the nation, party guidelines and policy plans, state laws and regulations, political science and governance, and leadership and control science; to serve teaching and learning; and to provide scientific information for the formulation of party and state guidelines and policies. The volunteer will work with the International Relations (IR) Division to support staff in planning and delivering English language training programs. This will include teaching English, organizing workshops, and assisting with IELTS preparation programs for teachers and staff who require higher levels of English proficiency. The volunteer will also help develop and administer progressive assessment tests to monitor learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
