Institute of Resource Governance and Social Change (IRGSC) is looking for an English Language Mentor for Researcher who can live and volunteer for 5.95 months in Kupang, Indonesia.
- This assignment seeks to strengthen staff and community-based researchers' proficiency in English to conduct the research across IRGSC's key areas including migration and trafficking, environmental governance, and social transformation,
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a TESOL certification or equivalent in English language teaching, and/or skill in creating/adapting materials for varied proficiency levels.
- As a volunteer, you will design and deliver a structured English learning program tailored to IRGSC’s research context, and support the preparation and editing of English-language research proposals and research outcomes.
About the Partner Organisation
The Institute of Resource Governance and Social Change (IRGSC) is a non-profit research and advocacy institute based in Indonesia, committed to advancing inclusive, evidence-based development. Since its establishment, IRGSC has worked at the intersection of governance, environmental justice, and social transformation, with a strong regional focus on Eastern Indonesia.
IRGSC conducts rigorous field research, facilitates policy dialogues, and supports grassroots movements to promote sustainable resource management, good governance, and social equity. The institute works closely with local communities, civil society, and government stakeholders to produce knowledge that is both academically grounded and actionable.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
Additional requirements include a First Aid Certificate.
