We’re looking for a Engineering Certification and Regulations Mentorwho can live and volunteer for 12 months in Bhutan.

  • This assignment seeks to develop regulatory frameworks, guidelines, rules, and standards for certification, registration and continuing professional development (CPD)
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a minimum Bachelor's Degree with a specialisation in any engineering/architecture field.
  • As a volunteer, you will support establishment of linkages between the council and relevant Australian agencies (engineering councils, educational institutions, and professional organization) to institute collaboration and mutual recognition.

About the Partner Organisation

The Bhutan Qualifications and Professionals Certification Authority (BQPCA) was formally established in January, 2024, as per Section 25 of the Civil Service Reform Act of Bhutan 2022. It serves as the competent authority for qualification accreditation, professional certification and national qualification framework in Bhutan. BQPCA oversees four Councils, including the newly established Engineering Professionals Council (EPC). Since the Engineering Professionals Council is newly established and in the process of establishment and operationalisation, the volunteer's knowledge and experience will provide guidance to the Council to align with international best practices. Additionally, the volunteer's ability to serve as a point of connection with Australian agencies (Engineers Australia, Universities, others) will create opportunities for partnerships, reciprocal recognition, and global integration of Professional Engineers, which are currently beyond the capacity of local resources.
