We’re looking for an Electronic Health Records (EHR) Systems Support Mentorwho canvolunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 8 months.

  • This assignment seeks to support the initial setup and configuration of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system using Halaxy, ensuring it is customized to meet the operational needs of Waniati’s clinics.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related professional field.
  • As a volunteer, you will provide ongoing, on-the-job mentorship and coaching to the Data Entry Officer and other relevant staff to build confidence and problem-solving skills in using the Halaxy system.

About the Partner Organisation

Waniati Development Association Inc. is a community-based non-government organization located in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea. The organization works primarily within Goroka and surrounding rural communities, supporting women and children through improved access to health education and maternal care.

Our mission is to promote safe motherhood by providing quality health services and awareness on maternal and child health. We focus on educating young girls, pregnant women, and school communities - both urban and rural - on the risks associated with pregnancy, childbirth, and the importance of accessing public healthcare. We collaborate closely with local health authorities, schools, and community leaders to bridge the information and access gap faced by disadvantaged women.

The volunteer will provide targeted technical support, offering their skills and expertise to train the Data Entry Officer in confidently signing in and inputting health statistics from Waniati’s two health facilities. This role cannot be filled locally due to the specialized IT and EHR implementation experience required, which is currently unavailable within the organization. By enabling the transition from manual data processes to a secure digital system, the volunteer will ensure efficient, sustainable, and accurate health data management critical for informed clinical decision-making.
