We’re looking for an Education Programmes Support Officerwho canlive and volunteer for 6 months in Cambodia.


  • This assignment seeks to support ongoing development and evaluation of existing youth learning programmes offered by Free the Bears ACE team, both on-site at the Cambodia Bear Sanctuary at Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center and off-site
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need relevant tertiary degree and experience in developing curricula and M&E programmes
  • As a volunteer, you will support in building capacity within the Cambodian team for development of curricula, learning materials and monitoring methods to insure all structured learning programmes contribute towards Free the Bears mission and education strategy to improve appreciation of nature and compassion for wildlife 

About the Partner Organisation 

Free the Bears is an international animal welfare and wildlife conservation charity headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Free the Bears works with governments and non-governmental partners to build, manage and sustain bear sanctuaries and field programmes aimed at ending the suffering of captive bears whilst protecting wild bears across Southeast Asia and India. This assignment will provide support to the Awareness, Communications and Education team of Free the Bears Cambodia team, assisting with the development of curricula and learning materials for a range of education programmes including local school groups, international youth groups, and online resources.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
