- You will be working alongside municipal staff, government officials, local businesses, community representatives, development partners, and civil society organisations to support tourism promotion and economic development initiatives.
- As a volunteer, you will support capacity building, strategic planning, market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge transfer to strengthen the Authority's ability to identify tourism-related growth opportunities and promote sustainable economic development.
About the partner organisation
Dili Municipal Authority (Autoridade Municipal de Díli - AMD) is the local government institution responsible for the administration and development of Dili Municipality, located in Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste. AMD delivers public services and leads local development initiatives across the municipality's administrative posts, working to improve infrastructure, urban management, economic development, environmental sustainability, and community well-being. The Authority collaborates with national government agencies, local communities, businesses, civil society organisations, and development partners to support sustainable and inclusive growth throughout Dili. AMD requires a volunteer with specialised expertise in economic development, tourism promotion, market analysis, and strategic planning to strengthen its capacity to support sustainable tourism and diversify local economic opportunities. This expertise is not readily available locally, and the volunteer will play an important role in building staff capacity, strengthening planning processes, identifying investment opportunities, and supporting knowledge transfer to enhance the municipality's long-term economic development outcomes.
