About the Partner Organisation
Forum Komunikasaun ba Feto Timor-Leste (FOKUPERS) is a community-based, non-profit organization founded in 1997 to address gender-based violence and human rights violations against women and children, particularly during the Indonesian occupation of Timor-Leste. Headquartered in Dili, FOKUPERS operates across eight municipalities, working closely with 31 community-based women’s groups to deliver a wide range of services, including shelters, legal support, advocacy, economic empowerment, and early childhood education. FOKUPERS aims to end gender-based violence and uphold the human rights of women and children in Timor-Leste through integrated services, advocacy, and empowerment. FOKUPERS works with a wide network of partners, including 31 community-based women’s groups across eight municipalities, local and national government bodies, international organizations such as CARE and the European Union, and civil society groups like ACbit and Hivos.
