About the Partner Organisation

Friends-International (FI), an award-winning NGO founded in Phnom Penh in 1994. Our vision is a world where every child, young person, and their caregivers are safe from harm and can access education, training and job opportunities to fulfil their potential as productive, functional citizens of their countries. Our multiple dynamic teams in Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar and Europe, together with our partners, deliver innovative services for children, youth, their families and their communities. As part of our HR strategy to invest in our people’s growth and development, training is essential. However, relying solely on in-person sessions is neither efficient nor sustainable. A blended approach is needed—combining in-person and online formats while leveraging AI, which is rapidly transforming the world of work. Over the last 30 years, Friends-International has developed extensive training resources across topics such as child protection, social work, leadership, and project management. We aim to make these resources accessible to our teams and partner organizations through the Partnerships Program for the Protection of Children (3PC).While both e-learning and AI are emerging as global priorities, Cambodia continues to face a shortage of local expertise in these areas. For example, no universities currently offer programs in e-learning design or AI-driven instructional development, making it challenging to find qualified specialists.
