We’re looking for a Disabilities Specialist who can live and volunteer for 4 months in Tuvalu.
- This assignment seeks to contribute and It is essential to assess the challenges and needs of individuals with disabilities using targeted questionnaires, along with a review of the current disability scheme managed by the Department.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Psychology, Special and Disability.
- You will be working alongside the assistant secretary for the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare
- As a volunteer, you will assist in reviewing and revising existing policies and legislation related to persons living with disabilities (PWD).
About the Partner Organisation
Tuvalu's Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) is responsible for overseeing health services and social welfare programs, including those for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). One of the 22 priorities for the Tuvalu Government is promoting inclusivity in government policies, legislation, and infrastructural development to cater to youth, women, and people with special needs.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
- First Aid Certificate is needed.
