We’re looking for a Database Research Officer (Indigenous Business) who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online and in-country for a total of 3 months.


  • This assignment seeks to create a centralised, accessible digital platform that stores and shares information on i-Taukei-owned businesses
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Tertiary qualification in Data Science/Information Management
  • You will be working alongside members of FIji Indigenous Business Council to integrate GEDSI cocepts into the research

About the Partner Organisation 

The Fiji Indigenous Business Council is based in Fiji and was established in 2001 to promote a unified and prosperous business network for Indigenous Fijians and Rotumans. They work to foster entrepreneurship, drive economic growth, and strengthen cooperation within indigenous communities by connecting entrepreneurs, business leaders and advocates. Australian Volunteer will support their mission of advancing indigenous economic empowerment and business development.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.

The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 2,526 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include obtaining a First Aid Certificate.
