We’re looking for a Counselling Regulations Development Mentorwho canlive and volunteer for 6 months in Bhutan.

  • This assignment seeks to support in development of regulatory document: Standards for Counselling education
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a minimum of Master's degree in related field of study (counselling regulations and related) and At least 10 years of experience in counselling regulatory works.
  • As a volunteer, you will support in development of regulatory document: Disciplinary Proceedings for Malpractice and Negligence Regulations 

About the Partner Organisation 

The then Bhutan Medical and Health Council was subsumed under the Office of the Bhutan Qualifications and Professionals Certification Authority (BQPCA) as Medical and Health Professionals Council on 9th January 2023. The Medical and Health Professionals Council is a member of the Medical Councils Network of the WHO South-East Asia Region and International Association of Medical Regulatory Authority.  Some of the mandates of the Counselling Section of the Medical and Health Professionals Council are to develop regulatory documents, frame plans, policies, standards and guidelines for Counselling. Additionally, they will be helping to design and develop regulatory strategies that are in line with the changing times.

as well as to promote quality training of the counselling professionals by monitoring the quality of faculty, curricula and processes related to the training.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate and valid registration with relevant association/professional bodies.
