About the Partner Organisation
Eastern Highlands Family Voice (EHFV) is a community-based, non-governmental organisation operating in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. Founded in the late 1990s, EHFV has been at the forefront of grassroots efforts to respond to gender-based violence (GBV), family and sexual violence (FSV), child protection, and the promotion of human rights.
EHFV works in both rural and urban areas, delivering counselling services, legal support, emergency referrals, and awareness campaigns. The organisation partners with local communities, government agencies, police, churches, and civil society groups to prevent violence, support survivors, and advocate for lasting policy change. Its work centres around women, children, and vulnerable populations who are most at risk.
EHFV delivers frontline services such as counselling, advocacy, and community education, and is seeking remote volunteer support to strengthen its program delivery through regular online training and coaching for its program staff. This remote mentoring will help build technical capacity, improve case management practices, and enhance service delivery across key thematic areas.
A remote volunteer based in Australia can play a key role in providing regular online coaching and technical guidance to EHFV program teams. The specialised nature of counselling and inclusive program development, particularly in areas such as GBV/FSV case management and disability support, requires expertise not readily available locally. The remote nature of the assignment allows for flexible, ongoing support without disrupting service delivery on the ground.
