We’re looking for a Communications and Digital Media Mentor who can live and volunteer in Lesotho for 12 months.

  • This assignment seeks to enhance communications capacity and provide a strategic opportunity to strengthen the visibility and outreach of the UNDP Lesotho Country Office.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a qualification in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design or a related field.  
  • As a volunteer you will gain hands-on experience in multilateral development work, engage with diverse stakeholders, and contribute to impactful storytelling in the UN context providing a meaningful contribution towards Lesotho’s development journey.  

About the Partner Organisation 

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Maseru, Lesotho, works in the Kingdom of Lesotho helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. They support the government of Lesotho to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and build resilience in order to sustain development results.


The volunteer with strong communication skills and a passion for development can bring fresh perspectives, technical expertise, and creative energy to support the team. UNDP Lesotho offers a dynamic and supportive environment for learning and growth.  With a growing portfolio of programs and partnerships, there is a need for dedicated support to ensure timely and high-quality communication outputs.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include providing or attaining a First Aid Certificate.
