- As a volunteer, you will support the team to develop sustainable plans for the future.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need to be a qualified speech therapist with experience in communication and feeding.
- You will be working alongside staff and parents to ensure children have better feeding and swallowing strategies.
About the Partner Organisation
ULUAKI FAIAKO INC is a Non-Government Organization (NGO), based in Nuku‘alofa, which was started to work in partnership with first time parents and young parents that have children from birth to 3 and up to 5 yrs of age. The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is one of their services which engages with the parents and families of children under the age of five (5) that have Development Delays. The future goal, for the organisation, is to utilise the skills attained in all areas of child development to ensure the children have a better future.
One of the organisations services is conducting home visits with a very high percentage of the children having communication and feeding difficulties due to their disabilities. One of the main reasons for the need of support is to upskill local staff so that they are able to better assist the parents and their children during home visits.
