About the Partner Organisation

Stella's Child was founded in 2013 to provide education for under privileged youth in order to be prepared to face the world of work. Often times, these underprivileged youth will not have the same opportunities to develop their soft or hard skills other than what they have received in their school. This usually leads them to fewer job and education opportunities which will keep them in the cycle of poverty. To combat this cycle, Stella's Child provide the youth with critical life skills development programs. These program include:

A. Junior and Senior Life Skills Academy: Our core life skills program helps children recognize their own dreams and potential. It enables them to turn their knowledge, outlook, and values into skills, abilities, and inteligence, which helps them succeed in entering the job market or finding further education opportunities. The program provides them with essential training in language and computer competency, financial literacy and budgeting, support them with skills assessment activities, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

B. Entrepreneurship Program: This program helps participants learn business by doing business. The program is supported by a network of volunteer entrepreneurs and experts to develop fundamental knowledge and skills in product design, makering, sales, and business administration.

C. First Employ: This program is the point which all the skills acquired above come to fruition. Finding ajob in any culture is challenging but is much harder for the youth from disadvantaged backgrounds without the meand and expertise to navigate in the job market.

D. Community Action Projects: This program is aimed to expand the reach to the areas outside our community center. Our program graduates take part in this program to contribute to their communities and elevate the overall condition of their village by focusing on issues that they self-identified as areas where their village and their island could be improved at a grassroot level. The focus is on leadership, project management, and community engagement.
