We’re looking for a Communication and Advocacy Officer who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Cambodia.

  • This assignment seeks to Develop and implement communication strategies, produce high-quality content, manage and update online presence, organize and promote events, liaise with media, monitor and evaluate communication efforts.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like communications, public relations, or a related area.
  • As a volunteer, you will develop and implement advocacy strategies, build relationships with key stakeholders, support policy change, raise awareness and mobilize public support, advocate for marginalized groups, collaborate with partners. 

About the Partner Organisation 

HI works in around sixty countries in emergency, reconstruction, chronic crisis and development contexts. Since 1982, the organisation has been working alongside vulnerable populations, in particular people with disabilities. Our combat is guided by HI’s vision, mission, and values. HI's interventions in Cambodia target mainly vulnerable groups with no or limited access to social services and social protection. Recognizing the scarcity of local expertise, skilled volunteers seconded to HI will play a crucial role in the organization social mission to support social inclusion of persons with disabilities in Cambodia.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
