We’re looking for a Clinical Policy and Procedure Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in the Solomons.

  • This assignment seeks to support the NRH in evaluating and strengthening its clinical policies and practices, ensuring the organisation meets international standards for safe and best practices.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a minimum of 5 years' experience in health service delivery, policy development, or hospital administration.
  • You will be working alongside the Clinical Governance Committee to review and/or develop policies and protocols to improve overall patient safety, medical care standards, and clinical management.

About the Partner Organisation 

The National Referral Hospital (NRH), based in Honiara, is the national referral centre, providing specialized care to patients referred from provincial hospitals nationwide. Strengthening hospital management and cost analysis is essential for improving service planning and sustainability.

The role will also assist the Clinical Governance Committee in developing other policies and protocols, such as blood safety, to improve overall patient safety, medical care standards, and clinical management. The volunteer will support the NRH Executive to institutionalise best practices in patient safety, policy development, and quality improvement to ensure sustainable enhancements in medical care delivery. The volunteer will assist in training and mentoring designated staff to gain the skills and expertise necessary to continue leading policy development beyond the assignment period.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment includes attaining a First Aid Certificate.
