We’re looking for a Climate Change Support Officer who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 10 months.
- This assignment seeks to suggest practical project models or interventions to increase children resilience to adapt to the impacts of climate change in Vietnam, for example water security, WASH, communicable disease, heat/air pollution, etc.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need relevant tertiary qualifications in international development or equivalent with specialisation in climate change
- As a volunteer, you will support to enhance in-house expertise for ChildFund Vietnam staff.
About the Partner Organisation
ChildFund Vietnam is the representative office of ChildFund Australia – an independent international development organisation that works to reduce poverty for children in developing communities. ChildFund began working in Vietnam in 1995 and works in partnership to create community and systems change which enables children and young people in vulnerable situations, to assert and realise their rights. ChildFund Vietnam has put it as a top priority to address the specific challenges they face but lacks significant past project experience as well as in-house expertise. We are therefore seeking external support to bolster our understanding and develop concrete ideas on mitigating the adverse effects of climate change on children. International expertise and experience are greatly appreciated in this endeavor. However, the volunteer and our team need to spend time together to customize approaches that resonate with the local landscape and cultural nuances. Additionally, we require guidance on effectively mapping out children's issues across different geographical locations.
