We’re looking for a Carpentry Trainer who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 9 months.
- This assignment seeks to To train/prepare students for the national carpentry skills competitions and “World Skills” competition
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need relevant industry qualifications and current industry experience in Construction/Carpentry.
- As a volunteer, you will identity gaps in the students’ capacities in carpentry and provide training on technical trade knowledge , practical carpentry skills and basic work health and safety skills.
About the Partner Organisation
Ulaangom Polytechnic College is in Uvs province which is located in the western part of Mongolia,1450km far from the capital city Ulaanbaatar. It is only vocational school in the region and established as Agricultural technical and vocational school in 1971. There are 122 teachers and administrative and service staff and about 700 students in 3 different level of education at the college. Most students /15-17 years old/ study in vocational education courses, students aged above 18, who graduate high school can enter the technical education courses, and the third one is the vocational training courses for both teens and adults. Teachers are divided into 3 departments, such as General Education Department, Vocational Education Department, Technical Education Department. We have a priority focus on strengthening our provision of training to the Construction industries. In particular, we would like to prepare our students for the national skills competition and "World Skills" competition in further so we need an expert teacher who has enough experiences working with students. The expert must have several years industry experience or someone who is confident in this field.
The expert will work with around 8-10 members of the project team and target students, organize trainings and workshops in the field of carpentry and prepare and teach lessons with carpentry teachers.

- There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.
- The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 1790 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
- First Aid Certificate is required.
