  • This assignment seeks to provide strategic business development and resource mobilisation expertise through support of the CEO and the Office of the Founder.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a relevant qualification and work experience in the international development field with a focus on Business Development and proposal management ideally within the NPO/NGO sector.
  • Work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through supporting this important organisation.

About the Partner Organisation

The Graça Machel Trust (GMT) organisation, based in Johanessburg, is a Pan-African advocacy organisation which acts as a catalyst, working across the African continent to advocate for the protection of children’s rights and dignity. As well as this they work to amplify women’s movements by harnessing and promoting their contributions to the economic, social and political development of Africa. Through the Trust's advocacy efforts they seek to influence decision-makers to change policies and practices needed to create societies that value social justice, and promote and protect the rights of women and children.

The organisation has a number of programs within the Trust that require support with business development and resource mobilisation as well as supporting the CEO and the Programs team. Business development is a key component of the organisation’s work and the volunteer will assist the organisation by guiding others in resolving complex issues relating to business development based on existing solutions, budgets, policies, procedures, and business planning. The volunteer will also contribute towards the development, implementation and coordination of business development initiatives and compliance with donor requirements and organisational procedures.
