We’re looking for a Broadcasting and Media Production Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Niue. 

  • This assignment seeks to strengthen BCN content production capacity, mentor and train staff, and enhance digital and social media presence 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Degree or equivalent in Journalism, media production or communications, proven experience in TV/radio production. Experience in mentoring and coaching digital content production, solid understanding of journalism media production or communications principles, and experience with national broadcasters and media in small island or pacific contexts. 
  • You will be working alongside Journalists, editors, presenters and technical staff under the General Manager.

About the Partner Organisation 

The Broadcasting Corporation of Niue (BCN) is Niue’s national broadcaster, delivering radio, television, and digital content to Niue and its global diaspora. BCN supports the preservation and promotion of Niuean culture, language, and national identity. BCN aims to provide high-quality, inclusive, and informative media programming. It works closely with government agencies, civil society, and international partners, including the Australian High Commission (AHC) in Niue and ABC Australia. Currently, BCN seeks to enhance local content production capacity, strengthen staff development, and improve audience engagement across multiple platforms to meet Niue’s growing media needs

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
