We’re looking for a Biodiversity Researcher who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 4 months.

  • This assignment seeks to Strengthen the integration of Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) into national and sub-national planning frameworks
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a bachelor degree in Environmental Economics, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • As a volunteer, you will support in building institutional capacity for the effective implementation and use of Natural Capital Accounting.

About the Partner Organisation

The Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment (ISPAE) is the advisory and research organization under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE). It was established in 2025 through the merger of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE), established in 2006, and the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD), established in 2005. This assignment is critical to the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment (ISPAE) as it strengthens the Institute’s ability to integrate environmental values into national planning and policy development. The assignment focuses on studying global NCA approaches developed by the UN, ESCAP, GOAP, and others; supporting the development of a General Spatial Data Framework (GSDF); building national and provincial capacity on NCA; and providing technical inputs to policy processes. These efforts will help institutionalize NCA within national systems, enhance cross-sectoral planning, and improve the valuation and management of natural assets. Ultimately, the assignment will contribute to ISPAE’s strategic goal of becoming a key knowledge and policy advisory center on sustainable agriculture and environmental governance.
