Layanan Disabilitas & Pendidikan Inklusif (LDPI) - Dinas Pendidikan Kota Padang is looking for an Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) Implementation Advisor who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Padang, Indonesia.


  • This assignment seeks to review the implementation of AAC teaching method in LDPI. From the review, the volunteer will assist LDPI's teachers to maximize their skill in teaching AAC for children with disabilities and their parents. The volunteer is expected to deliver AAC updates/newest innovation that might not reach the local trainers/educators yet.
  • As a volunteer, you will develop effective program and services for children with disabilities to find their suitable way to communicate. The development includes finding related learning tools and source.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need to have experience in teaching AAC as well as experience in reviewing the capacity of AAC trainers.


About the Partner Organisation 

LDPI is an institution of government that serves society. LDPI started its operation in 2014. This institution has given assessment services for children with disabilities. Nowadays, LDPI has assessed children with disabilities, approximately 4877 children (October 2022), with details 3389 male and 1488 female. In addition, LDPI's Disabilities Services and Inclusive Education also has given integrated intervention services (Occupational Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Speech Therapy ) to 427 children with disability.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.   

Additional requirement includes First Aid Certificate.
