We’re looking for an Architect Engineering Mentor who can live and volunteer in Palau for 2 months then from home remotely for 1 month.

  • This assignment seeks to support the Palau NOC to ensure their plan to have the Palau Olympic House built becomes a reality. It will provide support to all national sports federations, to the athletes, and to overall sports for Development, through the activities of sports and the pathways towards the Olympic Games.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need qualifications as an Architect and at least 5 years experience.
  • As a volunteer, you will support that the design incorporates long-term planning towards preparation for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games and continued use beyond.

About the Partner Organisation

The Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC) has a proud sporting history and regularly delivers sporting events and activations for Palauan people of all ages and abilities through the Olympic Movement and National Federation members. Due to their previous efforts, including recent support from the Australian Volunteers Program during the Pacific games in 2025, the Palau NOC has now been given a long term land lease to build the Olympic House and small training center to support athletes programs and sports delivery.  In this planning, for the Olympic House, an architect with engineering knowledge and background will support the start of the first stage and design of the Olympic house in Palau

The volunteer will assist in developing the design work required to prepare the scope of the Olympic House proposal, including the associated costs to be presented to donors and funding partners. While the IOC supports the Olympic House initiative, the NOC must demonstrate its commitment by securing the necessary funding for the project. To move forward, there is the need to finalize the design scope so that the overall concept and financial requirements of the Olympic House can be clearly defined and realized.
