We’re looking for an Agriculture Mentorwho canlive and volunteer for 12 months in Cambodia.

  • This assignment seeks to increase the capacity of EWB local engineers and community partners in applied technical and professional areas, including community gardening, innovative agricultural technology design, construction and maintenance, business planning through market-based approaches, project management, and effective communication.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor Degree in relevant Environmental, Agricultural Engineering or Science discipline. 
  • As a volunteer, you will support Improve agricultural technologies and solutions in the context of climate change through community-led project design and implementation.

About the Partner Organisation 

Engineers Without Borders Australia (EWB Australia) was established fifteen years ago as a purpose-driven organization that creates social value through engineering. It has offices in Melbourne, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, and Vanuatu. In Cambodia, EWB Australia last signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in May 2025, and a Cooperative Agreement with the Ministry of Rural Development in July 2023. The organization currently works in Siemreap, Kratie, Banteay Meanchey, Kandal, and Preah Vihear provinces. This Assignment supports EWB Cambodia’s mission to create social value through engineering focusing on climate-resilient agriculture. It’s works with rural communities to develop low-cost innovative solutions to challenges like climate change, food security while strengthening technical capacity and partnership to ensure sustainability and inclusivity.The volunteer will provide specialized engineering and agricultural technology expertise. EWB Cambodia collaborations with government, community organizations, and rural communities using participatory design and sustainable engineering. Volunteers gain hands-on experience, engage with diverse communities and learn about local technologies, grassroots development and cross-cultural collaboration.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
