We’re looking for an Advanced SALT Clinical Education Mentor - Adults who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of  2 months. 


  • This assignment seeks to provide advanced SALT clinical education on complex adult cases for fourth-year SALT students
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in speech pathology or speech and language therapy (or equivalent).
  • As a volunteer, you will collaborate with DUMTP teachers to develop teaching materials for the module: Graduation Internship

About the Partner Organisation 

Danang Medical Technical University (DMTU) is a higher education institution in central Vietnam specializing in training healthcare professionals in fields such as nursing, medical technology, public health, and rehabilitation. The university is committed to improving healthcare education and contributing to the development of Vietnam’s medical workforce. Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) is a relatively new field in Vietnam. Da Nang University of Medical, Technology and Pharmacy (DUMTP) is a public organisation which is governed by the Ministry of Health. DUMTP has the mission to train medical doctor, nurses, medical technicians (Rehabilitation, Medical Laboratory and Medical Imaging) for the health care system of Vietnam. The university emphasizes practical, hands-on learning and continually seeks to align its curriculum with international healthcare standards. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced educators and motivated students, gaining valuable insight into Vietnam’s medical education system and cultural context. Through this collaboration, volunteers can also develop skills in cross-cultural communication, curriculum development, and innovative approaches to teaching English for specific professional purposes in a healthcare setting.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.

The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 1996 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
