Academic Mentor

We’re looking for an Academic Mentor who can live and volunteer for 3 months in Vietnam.

• This assignment seeks to enhance students’ English proficiency for journalism and media communication.
• To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree in English Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or a related field.
• As a volunteer, you will support to foster critical media literacy and analytical skills.

About the partner organisation 

The Academy of Journalism and Communication (belonging to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) was established on 16th January 1962. With 60 years of development, the Academy has transformed itself from a small college to the leading higher education institution for journalism and communication in Vietnam. On 25th June 2015, the Prime Minister decided to add the Academy of Journalism and Communication to the network of key universities in the national education system. This assignment aims to enhance the English language proficiency of students at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, with a focus on media-specific contexts. It is designed to help students develop specialized vocabulary and practical communication skills relevant to journalism. Through targeted training activities, students will practice writing news articles, conducting interviews, analyzing media content, and presenting news reports in both spoken and written English.
