Academic Capacity Building in Gender, Development and Research

We are looking for an experienced Academic Capacity Building Advisor in Gender, Development and Research to support the Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA) through a hybrid volunteer assignment.

• This assignment aims to strengthen teaching, research and academic publication in Gender and Development through the sharing of international expertise and academic experience. You will work alongside VWA lecturers, researchers, students and the editorial team of the VWA Journal of Science to build capacity in teaching, research methodology, academic writing and scholarly publishing.
• To be considered for this role, you will have a postgraduate qualification in Gender Studies, Social Sciences or a related field, together with substantial experience in teaching, research, mentoring and academic publication.
• As a volunteer, you will contribute to developing high-quality, inclusive and gender-responsive education and research practices, supporting VWA’s efforts to advance gender equality, social development and international academic engagement.

About the partner organisation 

Vietnam Women’s Academy is a public higher education institution headquartered in Hanoi, with an additional campus in Ho Chi Minh City, operating nationwide in education, research, and capacity development. The Academy delivers multidisciplinary education and training programs in areas such as psychology, social work, law, business, and communication, while also promoting applied research, policy dialogue, and community engagement activities. VWA is committed to advancing gender equality, strengthening human capital, and contributing to inclusive social development in Vietnam. This assignment is important to Vietnam Women’s Academy as it supports the continued development of multidisciplinary programs within the Faculty of Business Administration, including Business Administration (Vietnamese and English-taught programs) across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels), Marketing, and Tourism and Travel Management. These programs aim to equip students with practical knowledge, leadership skills, and adaptability to meet the demands of an increasingly dynamic and globalised economy. In line with the Academy’s mission, the assignment also contributes to enhancing opportunities for female students to participate and advance in business, management, and entrepreneurial fields.
