Project Overview
Following the successful 2025 Indigenous Conservation Knowledge Exchange projects in the Solomon Islands and the Torres Strait Islands, the Australian Volunteers Program is pleased to continue supporting this important collaboration. It has been wonderful to see the strong relationships built between the Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) and the Solomon Islands Rangers Association (SIRA), and the Program would like to keep supporting the work of both partners in flexible ways that work for everyone.
Both TSRA and SIRA are excited to be working together again, supported by the Australian Volunteers Program. Following the conclusion of Phase One & Two of the Indigenous Conservation Knowledge Exchange, SIRA and TSRA have expressed a desire for the next phase of the project to involve a three-week group project, for four TSRA staff in Solomon Islands.
