Pre-departure briefing

This workshop is a necessary step for all in-country volunteers before beginning their assignment.

Pre-departure briefings (PDB) are three days of workshops that cover a range of topics relevant to program participants. These sessions are held in Melbourne, and costs, such as flights or accommodation, are covered for those outside of metropolitan Melbourne.

It is a requirement that all program participants attend a three-day pre-departure briefing held in Melbourne. Failure to attend mandatory briefing sessions, or participate fully in the activities, may result in your assignment being delayed or cancelled.

Upcoming dates for PDBs are:  

  • 25 - 27 October 2023
  • 13 - 15 December 2023
  • 21 - 23 February 2024
  • 20 - 22 March 2024
  • 22 - 24 May 2024
  • 26 - 28 June 2024

More details about the pre-departure briefing will be available in the Australian Volunteers Portal at the onboarding stage.
