Introducing the RAVN Online Seminar Series

While the RAVN community can’t come together in-person for the foreseeable future, we have been working hard to adapt our events and activities to an online format so that all returned volunteers can stay connected, regardless of location.

We are very excited to announce the RAVN Online Seminar Series - an opportunity for us to connect and learn together online.

The seminar series will begin in May and run monthly until October 2020 with topics and expert speakers informed by feedback from the RAVN community through the recent RAVN online engagement survey, as well as the postponed Make an Impact | International Volunteering Conference program, and DFAT.

The Art of Storytelling with Dumbo Feather

  • Friday 26 June, 10.00am – 12.00pm, including a short break (AEST)
  • Storytelling has been at the heart of every culture since the dawn of humankind. It's how we've sought to make sense of who we are and how we interact with the world around us. From cave walls and campfires to theatres and dinner tables, the platforms for our storytelling have been as varied as the yarns themselves. As we find ourselves drawn deeper and deeper into the digital age, our natural inclination to process experience through storytelling can be challenged. In this interactive workshop, Nathan Scolaro, Editor of Dumbo Feather magazine, will share his tips and ideas for finding your stories through conversation and reflective practices. It will help you find meaning in some of the key experiences of your life and give them a narrative arc.
