Become a RAVN State Representative

State representatives are volunteering champions! Apply now for the opportunity to lead networking activities in your state, assist the RAVN Manager and represent returned volunteers to the Australian Volunteers Program.

From personal experience, it has been one of the most amazing volunteering opportunities for me over the past few years. I have really enjoyed coordinating events; I have learned lots of new things and met really lovely people. I am unable to continue in the role as I am packing my bags soon to take up a new volunteer assignment in Papua New Guinea. Please consider applying for the position.

—- Julie Wren, RAVN State Representative for Western Australia, 2018-2019

The Australian Volunteers Program is now recruiting for RAVN State Representatives in all states and territories!

We are looking for fairly recently returned volunteers to voluntarily lead RAVN networking activities, manage Facebook in their states and territories and participate in high-level Australian Volunteer Program advocacy. RAVN State Representatives are highly motivated and social people who have good events management and communications skills, are confident public speakers, are engaged RAVN members and have positive volunteer conduct records.

There are two to three State Representatives in each state and territory so you will be working with like-minded returned volunteers!

This volunteer role is supported by the RAVN Manager and is for a minimum of one year, but may be extended for an additional 12 months if agreed between AVI and the RAVN State Representative. Therefore the term of the role is from June 2019 to June 2020.

This is also a great opportunity to expand your CV, develop your event management and social media skills and engage with Australian Aid actors and other returned volunteers - all while supporting the Australian Volunteers Program!

Your availability to attend the RAVN State Representative planning and training workshop at AVI in Melbourne on 1-2 June (fully supported) is weighted heavily.

For a full outline of the position and applicant requirements please download the Position Description and Code of Conduct. *Please note this is a voluntary position without remuneration or contact.

Applications due by midnight on 29 April 2019.
