Di Brown, working as a Nurse Educator at Sanglah Hospital in Bali, introduced patient-centred care and a nursing handover card, changing attitudes, improving care and garnering the attention of the Indonesian Minister of Health.

She worked towards improving the education of children with special needs by running training workshops for school principles,  supervisors and teachers, improving attitudes and awareness towards children with special needs.
