Community & Social Development
Latest assignments available
Take your Community and Social Development skills overseas and work with leading international NGOs or make your mark with local non-government organisations that are creating an impact at the grassroots level. Help advocate, develop programs, monitor and evaluate success.
We are constantly recruiting people with social work experience who often work with vulnerable groups or as community development officers in the field of disability.
Many of our volunteers work collaboratively with our overseas partners to identify areas of need within a community. On occasions this includes providing appropriate technical support to develop practical goals and achievable programs.
Community and Social Development professionals need to have experience in mentoring or training others, as one of the key components of being an AVI volunteer, is to facilitate the development of collective resolutions and strategies, so that they can work with the host employer to provide an improved level of service to their respective community.
Subsequently, a broad range of transferable skills are sought by our overseas partners, which includes experience in; Monitoring and Evaluation, Stakeholder management, and demonstrated experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of vulnerable groups.
