AVI Board
The Board oversee the affairs of Australian Volunteers
International. It ensures that the organisation meets its statutory
compliance obligations and fulfils its purpose by setting the
strategic direction and monitoring progress towards achieving
organisational objectives. All members are honorary.
The Board has established a Risk Management and Audit Committee, a
Governance Committee and an Asset Development Committee to ensure
that AVI reflects industry best practice in risk management,
financial accountability and corporate governance; and that its
assets are best utilised to meet the needs of the organisation.

Alison Crook AO (Deputy Chair)

Non-Executive Director and Consultant; former Deputy
Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President, Resources, at Monash
University, Melbourne; awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia
(AO) in 1993 for services to public administration. AVI volunteer
1971 in PNG.
Kurt Fearnley OAM
Australian champion wheelchair racing athlete; Gold medallist IPC
World Championships 2006; Gold medallist Athens 2004 Paralympic
Games; Silver medallist Sydney 2000 Paralympic games; Finalist,
Young Australian of the Year 2005; Australian Male Athlete of the
Year 2004; Gold medallist Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
Jenny McGregor
Chief Executive Officer, Asialink.
Robert McLean (Deputy Chair)
Member Asset Development and Risk Management and Audit
committees.
Certified practising accountant with extensive experience in
finance and risk management. AVI volunteer 1974-75 in Malaysia.
Samantha Mostyn
Sustainability Adviser and Board Director, Commissioner with the
Australian Football League, President of the Australian Museum
Trust and a board member of Reconciliation Australia, the Sydney
Theatre Company. She is the Chair of the Stakeholder Advisory
Council of the CSIRO's Climate Adaptation Flagship, a member of the
NSW Climate Change Council and serves of the advisory board of
ClimateWorks Australia.
