Your radio skills needed in Swaziland

Do you have technical expertise in radio production and sound engineering? Seeking a change? AVI has a role available working with community radio in Swaziland that could sound perfect for you.

AVI has a position available now as a Radio Producer - Sound Engineer, Community Broadcast Service in Swaziland.

Lusweti is a Swazi not-for-profit organisation with a mission to reduce the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and other health and social development challenges in the country by promoting values for positive behaviour change.

It has just launched a radio studio and seeks an Australian Volunteer to be stationed at the studio as a technical specialist and trainer, to record and produce products such as radio dramas, jingles, Public Service Announcements and adverts.

Working with radio in the Solomon Islands

AVI has a history of working in community-based radio - Australian Volunteer Russell Jordan is currently working with SIDT (Solomon Islands Development Trust in Honiara.

With his technical knowlege and experience in sound engineering, Russell is working alongside SIDT to build capacity with the media group.

increase the capacity of SIDT to manage the day to day running of its media program focussing on strengthening the capacity of SIDT staff in providing training and media management skills.

In the image above Russell is working with SIDT's Walter Furasi to soundproof SIDT’s first community radio broadcast studio.

SIDT was established in 1982, and aims to 'improve the quality of village life', which it does through programs focussed on communications, health, nutrition, environmental protection and income generation.

Since the early 1980s, AVI has placed more than thirty volunteers with SIDT in a range of roles, including organisational change and program development.
