Volunteer Stories heads to Alice Springs

06 September 2012
Volunteer Stories heads to Alice Springs

Through the Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program, an Australian Government, AusAID initiative, everyday Australians are making amazing contributions to improving the livelihoods of hundreds of developing communities around the globe. To share in their adventures, triumphs and tribulations, Australian Volunteers International (AVI) and Austraining International (AI), invite you to a night of storytelling at the Alice Springs Town Council.

Capturing the traditional art of storytelling, the Volunteer Stories event will see local community members take you on an inspirational journey through the cultures, global friendships and life experiences they have gained from their overseas volunteer assignments. You’ll hear first-hand accounts of what it’s like to live and work overseas, and how you can become an international volunteer too. The evening will conclude with a Q&A panel discussion. Learn about the financial support volunteers receive, the diversity of assignments and how volunteering is for all ages.

Don’t miss an entertaining evening of inspiring stories from around the globe.
