Macquarie University seeking PACE International Program Coordinator
05 January 2011
Macquarie
University's Participation and Community Engagement (PACE)
Initiative is seeking an International Program Coordinator.
The PACE International initiative is an exciting new component
of the University's strategic direction, emphasising the
University's commitment to excellence in research, teaching and
learning, and community engagement.
The PACE International Program Coordinator is responsible for
developing and coordinating the full project cycle for the PACE
International Program in collaboration with Australian Volunteers
International (AVI), and other internal and external
stakeholders.
Through
experiential learning activities students will have opportunities
to apply their classroom learning to real world situations while
developing skills that employers value. PACE International, jointly
managed by Australian Volunteers International and Macquarie, is
specifically designed to provide these opportunities for students
who want to travel overseas. From 2012, a PACE unit will be a core
requirement in a majority of undergraduate degree
programs at Macquarie.
Students will have
the opportunity to put the skills and knowledge they have been
learning in the classroom into practice, and to make a contribution
to real world projects, improving the wellbeing of people and the
planet.
Please note
applications for this position close on 9 January
2011.
