JLT & ACE Insurance in Melbourne have combined to provide an
annual sponsorship package for an initiative by Australian
Volunteers International (AVI) in the Philippines. The sponsorship
covers the twelve month living costs for a Volunteer Manager in
Manilla, who is responsible for developing and maintaining a youth
training and education programme for underprivileged children.
"JLT is proud to be associated with the work of AVI, who provide
opportunities for Australians to become volunteers and to share in
a vision of creating a peaceful and just world," said Andrew
Nicholl, General Manager of JLT Retail Melbourne.
AVI is one of JLT's longest standing Melbourne customers, and
ACE the insurer currently underwriting their international travel
and expatriate insurance program. AVI itself is the oldest
volunteer organisation of its kind in Australia, having established
operations in 1951. Today, more than 700 Australian men and women
annually participate in international skill and development
programs internationally.
